On Friday 5th August, the Jumbo Sound THREW an amazing darts night, where members of the hospital radio and social club were battling it out to see who would win the cup. It was obvious that some of us had never played before and to the audiences delight Pete hit the floor more than the board! Congratulations to Phil for winning the highest score for the evening and for Jason and his teammate who won the competition in a close fought battle. Thank you to everyone in the social club for showing your support and for those that played and cheered us on.

On this weekend, we were strong in numbers as we gave out fliers and freebies telling all about our wonderful radio station and the service that we provide for the patients at Goodmayes. Playing music we sung and danced and had great laughs, we even took some requests! Thank you to everyone that gave up their time to listen to what we do. A massive thank you goes out to everyone who kindly donated for our packed stall and terrific tombola. If you were fortunate enough to win a prize, we hope you enjoyed it.

It was raining it was pouring but the Jumbo Sound didn't let that bother the party, the proposed garden party became an inside hall party, and Jamie was fortunate enough to be playing music and taking requests on a beautiful stage. Thank you for everyone at Kingsley hall, for giving us all of your support for another year.

There was no empty seat in sight as Goodmayes Social club was packed full of willing quizers ready to take on the Jumbo Sound's quiz night. Colin the quizmaster did an excellent job testing our general knowledge from music rounds through to picture rounds, and to end the fantastic evening we all ate a lovely supper. Thank you to Brothers Fish bar for making delicious food and to the Social Club bar staff for letting us host such an enjoyable evening. A special thank you to Norman Darling and his Barclays team who helped double the Jumbo Sounds takings for the night and for everybody who participated and showed their support.

A fun filled day where The Jumbo Sound was providing music in the sunshine playing everything from the 50s right up to modern day chart stompers. Jamie was taking lots of requests, happily playing English Football songs, to get everyone in the mood for the world cup game and was even treated to tasty barbecue food. Here at the Jumbo Sound we would like to thank everyone, at the summer carers' celebration event at Kingsley hall, for giving us all of your support.
